Viti S.r.L. is a Lecco company leader in the production of self-tapping screws and in the offer of fastening systems. Founded in 1974 by Mr. Adriano Ferrario, today under the guidance of his two sons Angelo and Stefano, it has 45 employees for a total annual production that fluctuates around one billion pieces.

Its products are intended for the main European and Italian companies operating in various fields and markets: from the classic hinges for furniture, to components for coffee machines, the white goods industry, cars and ovens. Over the years, Viti has developed an internal department for the design and, in part, for the autonomous construction of tools and made investments for secondary operations to complete the production cycle such as rolling, galvanizing, heat treatments, up to careful control quality before packing the parts produced.

The materials that are mainly treated range from C4C, C35 steel, A2, A4 stainless steel and brass.

To better meet the needs of end users, the company has developed an increasingly "verticalized" production process, aimed at responding to all the characteristic needs of each industry sector, as well as to the individual company: capacity, flexibility and quality are the three keywords of the company Vision.

The first Carlo Salvi header joined Viti in 1976. From the beginning the two companies have established a deep bond, strengthened by the territoriality that unites them and the corporate values they share.

“Viti company is founded on solid cornerstones well familiar to the modus operandi of Carlo Salvi, where qualitative flawlessness, promptness of response and customer care at 360 degrees guide the daily activity. This professional consistency and affinity of thought were immediately perceived. from our company which was readily available to establish a working collaboration with great expectations ", says Germano Pandiani, C.O.O. of Carlo Salvi.

In turn, Angelo Ferrario, Purchasing Sales Manager and President of the company together with his brother Stefano thus recalls the beginning of the story with the Garlate company:

"The motivation that prompted us to collaborate with Carlo Salvi is the proven historicity and corporate solidity, as well as the awareness of the fact that we would have to deal with the best world leaders in the field of double-stroke headers. Over the years, we have increasingly realized how much what binds us to the company is a tangible result due to professionalism, safety, quality of service, reliability and technical excellence. We can affirm that ours is not a mere professional relationship, but a bond of friendship built over the years and supported by continuous trust as well as by high quality and long-lasting outputs".

For more than 30 years, for daily production, VITI has only used Carlo Salvi brand headers; despite having produced billions of parts, they have never needed extraordinary interventions and maintenance. There are currently 30 models in the company, the 31st is on the way.

"In the company we use the whole range of models, from the smallest to the largest machines as regards the double strokes. In the last three years an additional investment has been made, the two dies and four blow model CS 243 and CS 246 E. The goal is to open our doors to hitherto unexplored markets, enriching our production range with special, fully customized parts", comments Stefano Ferrario, Production Technical Director at Viti. "Carlo Salvi brand machines are simple and quick settings thanks to the quick-change kit, the consistency of the performance, durability and reliability”.

The Industry 4.0 process has been implemented on the latest Carlo Salvi headers in order to interconnect processes and products using new digital technologies.

The production process has undergone a reorganization to create, by the end of the year, a direct connection between the office and the machine with a view to a bilateral relationship and an ever faster and faster exchange of data. This technology can be applied to all internal programming and maintenance activities, in order to contain costs and guarantee the customer constant compliance with delivery times.

The investments of VITI company are not limited only to machinery and new technologies, but also to personnel, both in the workshop and in the office.

"Our desire has always been to hire resources from a young age to be able to accompany them until retirement age. Nowadays, pursuing this goal is more complex due to factors and dynamics external to the company, but with some people we are succeeding. It is an investment not only in terms of money, but above all of energy, which wants to carry on our personal philosophy according to which people are not mere numbers. Without this clear principle in mind, you cannot be a good entrepreneur”, states Angelo Ferrario.

Following this principle, the Ferrario brothers agreed to organize the production through an extended shift, divided into two variable shifts, which starts in the morning at 6am and ends at 8pm as a solution adopted to better meet the staff needs and their desire to spend more time with their family.

Attention to the relationship with its employees, as well as to customer care, are a further element of affinity between the two companies. Carlo Salvi and VITI work in close contact every day, creating a synergy, to allow the customer to receive a high-quality finished product made by specialized personnel. For this reason, for years now, coordinated trainings have been organized both internally and by the technicians Carlo Salvi, aimed at educating new hires and guaranteeing a constant level of quality also in anticipation of natural generational changes.

"With VITI we have undertaken an ambitious and enormously value project, that allows us to guarantee our partners the security of having a staff of people prepared and willing to grow with the company and pursue its objectives" concludes Carlo Salvi team.
